Polygon Formed Ocean Conservation NGO Alliance to Boost Ocean Literacy

By | October 7, 2022

Decentralized Ether scaling platform Polygon reportedly disclosed details of an alliance with the Ocean Conservation Exploration and Education Foundation (OCEEF) to promote ocean literacy.

Specifically, the newly established partnership for ocean literacy promotion will be carried out via new creative, entertaining and engaging measures to offer people exposure to deep underwater missions.

“A new wave in ocean conservation @oceef_, a world class ocean conservation NGO, is working with #Polygon towards a next-gen ocean conservation initiative.”

Per Polygon, the primary goal of this alliance is to provide interactive experiences through a governance platform, in which participants will be able to assist in making key decisions associated with the RV Odyssey – among the top advanced ocean research vessels throughout the world.

Participants will have the possibility of deep-diving into the state-of-the-art research vessel via immersive and interactive experiences in the Metaverse.

The collaboration has further intentions of enabling participants to play a key role in deciding the vessel’s future itinerary, research and even engage in the missions on board through the metaverse and other Web3 tools.

“Using our Polygon partnership and its carbon-neutral tech as a launchpad, we will be using technology to democratize access to the vessel through multiple Web3 platforms as well as provide participants with the ability to help decide the vessel’s future itinerary and research.”

OCEEF will additionally make it possible for groups of students to take part in their teams for different missions and dives. These opportunities will be rolled out in the form of nonfungible tokens (NFTs), which would be dedicated to the financial support of the initiative.

“Being able to facilitate a global endeavor such as the one that OCEEF is undertaking is very humbling. I know that our technology is up to the task of bringing these types of immersive, educational, and change-making experiences to people all over the globe.”
