Playboy Introducing ‘MetaMansion’ In The Sandbox

By | July 14, 2022

Playboy is reportedly gearing towards introducing a MetaMansion that will be the hosting environment of gaming, social and programmed events, together with Playboy-developed future NFT collectibles.

Specifically, this virtual version of the Playboy mansion will reportedly come with a wide array of gaming, social and programmed events, as well as future nonfungible token (NFT) collectible that the company built itself.

Iconic and raunchy “lifestyle brand” Playboy has reportedly formed a partnership with NFT-powered Metaverse gaming platform The Sandbox to introduce the MetaMansion.

The MetaMansion also develops upon the foundation of Playboy’s Rabbitars NFT project, which is made up of 11,953 tokenized bunny avatars with a value equivalent of $800 each piece in October last year.

Hodlers of these NFTs will soon have the power to tap into exclusive experiences at the virtual mansion. Nonetheless, the details and the release date have not yet been revealed.

At the time of writing, the floor price for the Rabbitar NFTs on OpenSea is at 0.19 Ether (ETH) or around $206, which translated to a 74.25% drop since its introduction in October.

The Sandbox also stated that users would have the ability to eagerly secure neighboring NFT land plots to the MetaMansion later this quarter. As suggested from historical data, a strong demand for the land is expected, taking into account that someone spent $450,000 just to be Snoop Dogg’s neighbor in The Sandbox-based Snoopverse in December.

“Playboy is emblematic for its charm, lifestyle, and entertainment content that has transcended generations and that has already stepped into Web3 with early success,” The Sandbox chief operations officer and co-founder Sebastien Borget further remarked.
