Opera reportedly introduced a beta version of its Web3 browser, featuring a built-in crypto wallet, functioning on the iOS and environment – iPhone and iPad.
Specifically, Opera’s Crypto Browser has reportedly been initially rolled out for Mac and Windows desktop users, together with customers using Android since January this year.
The mobile roll-out is reportedly the most recent phase in its Crypto Browser Project – an initiative that primarily concentrates on Web3 for supporting navigation throughout decentralized applications (DApp), games and metaverse platforms.
As revealed by the firm, the primary functionalities include the Opera Wallet with facilitating features for the Ethereum, Polygon, and Celo ecosystems, regarding the purchasing, selling and transferring of tokens.
Users will also have the ability to carry out restoration of any Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) compatible Wallet with the native Opera Wallet, and conduct integration of their current assets and balances.
On the browser’s homepage, the most recent top NFT sales will be visible to customers, along with a news aggregator, going by the name “Crypto Corner”, with live updates focusing on crypto asset prices and gas fees, as well as airdrops and even suggested educational resources.
The firm additionally shared that the browser is introduced along with a crypto mining protection, which shields against “crypto-jacking” scripts, that potentially compromise the performance of an iPhone or iPad device.
Other security features include a native ad and tracker blocker, pop-up blocker and an intuitive Cookie Dialogue Blocker.
“The Opera Crypto Browser Project was built to simplify the Web3 user experience that has often been bewildering for mainstream users. Opera believes Web3 has to be easy to use in order to reach its full potential and a mass adoption.” Jorgen Arnesen, EVP Mobile at Opera, disclosed that growing interest in Web3, whether it’s from veteran crypto users or newcomers, is the main concentration of the app.
