Major messenger app, LINE has signed a memorandum of understanding with the local financial giant Nomura Holdings to discuss on forming a blockchain alliance.

Accordingly, a formal contract will be signed the end of March 2019. Nomura reportedly provides investment and financial services to LINE and LVC Corporation. This is not the first collaboration between LINE and Nomura. Last year, they have successfully entered into a partnership to launch a company providing securities brokerage services and investment advice.

LINE launched its own cryptocurrency known as LINK, and its in-app trading space for its users later last year. According to their announcement, LINK tokens will be used as a payments for a range of LINE services.
