Multinational kickboxing promotion company GLORY has made Litecoin its official cryptocurrency, which will be also usable as a valid form of payment on GLORY’s online store.
GLORY publicly announced its collaboration with the Litecoin Foundation on Feb 27. The partnership marks the first time a professional sports league has turned to Litecoin to integrate all aspects of fan experience, according to GLORY’s press release.
With Litecoin, GLORY fans in the US and Europe are promised exclusive offers, including athlete meet-and-greets, backstage arena tours, limited-edition merchandise and premium in-arena seating, only available when booked through GLORY online. At the same time, Litecoin will receive global exposure from GLORY’s events, broadcast, and social media.
Litecoin creator Charlie Lee said, “GLORY has a growing worldwide fan base that consists in large part of a younger demographic who are early adopters of technology and conduct much of their lives online – from consuming content to purchasing products. As GLORY continues to grow, tapping into their global audience and educating them about Litecoin through real world use cases can be powerful.”
GLORY CEO Marshall Zelaznik echoed Lee’s sentiment, saying, “A partnership with Litecoin, which offers one of the fastest transaction confirmation speeds of any cryptocurrency, makes perfect sense for GLORY and our fans as we put on the fastest fight action in the combat sports world’ he said. With both companies also being young, dynamic and achieving consistent year-on-year growth, GLORY could not have found a more fitting cryptocurrency partner.”
