Canada-based Heavyweight Enhances Supply Chain Via Blockchain Partnership

By | April 26, 2020

Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) – one of 50 Canada-based heavyweights – has reportedly teamed up with blockchain-powered supply chain middleware platform Morpheus.Network.

Specifically, FCL reportedly looks to finalize its goal of integrating DLT-powered tracking for mass application throughout its diverse supply chain, consisting of 1400 firms in Western Canada, with more than 23,000 employees.

FCL has forged an alliance with Morpheus.Network, which will last for 3 years, through which the blockchain platform will be in charge of offering optical character recognition, machine learning, and blockchain tech, in an effort to make FCL’s complex supply chain more efficient.

Particularly, Morpheus’ system will make the automated tracking and compliance management features available for FCL, replacing the existing manual method.

“This system replaces a largely manual process where thousands of regulatory certification and documents from more than 150 suppliers are collected and managed by FCL which all need to be scanned, validated, processed and tracked.”

Raymond Gareau – Supply Chain Manager of FCL – has reportedly stressed on the importance of the enhanced level for “supplier document management and validation processes”, which comes with the DLT integration.

“Next up we are looking at the overall visibility of our supply chain from suppliers to FCL warehouses”
