Continuing its expansion, crypto wallet provider Blockchain.com has unveiled its fifth new office – this time in Vilnius, Lithuania. Headquartered in Luxembourg, its other offices are in London, New York, and San Francisco.

On February 19, the company made the announcement via its official blog. It said Vilnius had been picked after it explored “several options in Europe” before finding the Lithuanian capital “ideal” to expand its team on account of “the vibrant talent pool and the city’s commitment to innovation”.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Blockchain to Vilnius. The presence of a company as well-known as Blockchain will put Lithuania in the spotlight of the international blockchain community”, said Virginijus Sinkevičius, Lithuania’s Minister of Economy and Innovation.

The crypto firm expectation is to become an important home of customer success operations, design, and engineering teams. Blockchain.com is likewise looking to hire employees in Lithuania, with new opportunities to be declared over the coming weeks.

Mantas Katinas, General Manager of Invest Lithuania, added: “Not only will a world leader in blockchain technology and services be joining our growing community, they will also be instrumental in locally developing the next generation of innovators in the field.”

Blockchain.com claims it had 33 million wallet accounts in over 160 nations, offering services to a growing user base, and developing new and innovative software solutions.

Less than a week ago on February 14, the Central Bank of Lithuania issued an updated notice to officially allow digital asset investment funds and third-party crypto services to enter the market – as long as they comply with policies guarding against money laundering and terrorism.  

Financial institutions in Lithuania are still not allowed to accept crypto payments, however.
