Binance reportedly revealed details of its collaboration with the Ukrainian supermarket chain VARUS to support crypto-enabled payments for grocery purchases via its Binance Pay Wallet.

Specifically, the grocery store is among the most major establishments in Ukraine with more than 111 stores throughout 28 cities in the nation. The firm claimed that this alliance will mak it possible for its buyers to tap into instant crypto payments and fast delivery in 9 cities in Ukraine.

The suburban areas reportedly include Kyiv, Dnipro, Kamianske, Kryvyi Rih, Zaporizhzhia, Brovary, Nikopol, Vyshhorod, and Pavlograd.

The firms further disclosed information related to a “reward fund promotion”, in which buyers who order anything from the VARUS Delivery program with a value equivalence exceeding the UAH 500 benchmark and pay with Binance Pay, will be rewarded with UAH 100.

In August, a Ukrainian POS and crypto payments firm dubbed ”Whitepay” reportedly introduced a new program that made it possible for Ukrainians to buy electronics and other products with cryptocurrency.

In attendance at this year’s Kyiv Tech Summit organized on Sept 6 -9 in Ukraine, Ethereum Founder Vitalik reportedly stated a belief that “Ukraine could well become the next Web3 hub”.

“A country can become a Web3 hub if its citizens are actively interested in this technology and decide to make a major contribution to its development,” Buterin added. “Ukraine has both the capabilities and the determination to do this.”
