Innovative blockchain platform Beowulf has announced a partnership with the National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU), a top tier higher education institution in Taiwan. The partnership focuses on easing the barriers to learning and teaching Mandarin for anyone around the world, and will provide an international standardised certificate of Mandarin language proficiency for non-native Mandarin language speakers, an approach similar to Cambridge’s approach with the IELTS Certificate.
Beowulf will provide their new distance learning platform Victoria for the Mandarin language education program that NTNU will develop. NTNU will subsequently provide the teaching materials, teaching resources and instructional methods, from which the lesson plans will be based. This will enable both companies to utilize the best of their abilities to offer this unique learning model.
Beowulf is a B2B platform which provides excellent communication services with infinite scalability across the globe. Beowulf’s technology encompasses a comprehensive suite that handles various communication functions (voice/video calling, messaging) from front-end to back-end infrastructure, with enterprises paying per minute-of-usage; a decentralized distant learning platform named Victoria; and HANA, an innovative telemedicine system. QUICKOM is a US patent pending platform by Beowulf that represents a monumental leap forward in corporate and personal communication in the digital age. With aims to give privacy control over communications back to the user, QUICKOM provides a customizable and anonymous QR code call service that replaces phone numbers with scannable QR codes.
Beowulf Blockchain and NTNU will work together to recruit teachers and students, and NTNU will provide the framework for evaluation, as well as the handling of the Certification.
“Ultimately, it’s about making language education accessible and affordable to more students, and in the process, helping raise the profile of one of Taiwan’s most accredited institutions. Beowulf’s blockchain-based solution helps connects Mandarin teachers and students who want to learn Mandarin, anytime, anywhere,” said Beowulf Founder and CEO Dr. William H. Nguyen.
NTNU is one of the most prestigious universities in Taiwan and one of the top-ranked universities in the world. It consists of 11 colleges, 56 departments, 112 graduate institutes, four research centers and a school of professional education and continuing studies.
