Seety a digital parking startup headquartered in Belgium – has reportedly rolled out crypto payment facilitating features for parking tickets.
Specifically, the firm, which is among the first entities across Belgium to be bootstrapped by accelerator program Start it @KBC, has reportedly introduced a new crypto payment solution to the public audience, available in Antwerp and Brussels.
Starting Thursday, Seety clients will reportedly have the power to utilize Bitcoin for payments of parking tickets in both urban areas.
Apart from Bitcoin, a wide variety of virtual coins are reportedly available to the customers as well, nominally Ether (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Dogecoin (DOGE), and Litecoin (LTC), together with stablecoins like Dai and USD Coin (USDC).
Clients who are having plans to conduct crypto-enabled payments for their parking space, will reportedly use the coins to purchase Seety credits on the company’s app. There will not be any extra fees involved should crypto be selected as payment measure.
The Seety app is reportedly catering to more than 355,000 users across Belgium and the Netherlands, with a goal of reaching a yearly turnover of over 2 million euros ($2,372,002.28) by 2022.
For the firm, crypto-enabled payments for parking spaces reportedly shows the way digital coins will be able to accumulate an enhanced level of adoption in day-to-day microtransactions.
Seety has further expectations of crypto adoption to develop more as soon as the environmentally friendly level of tokens increases.
Bitcoin-based payments for finalizing parking tickets can reportedly be traced back to 2014 with the defunct Brawker app.
