Cross-chain platform Axelar reportedly disclosed details of an alliance with Polygon to provide secure cross-chain communications to Polygon Supernets.
Specifically, the firm disclosed that Axelar’s collaboration with Polygon will function as infrastructure for an interoperable internet of dedicated Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchains, operated by Polygon Edge.
Sergey Gorbunov, current Head and co-founder of Axelar, additionally claimed that this alliance plays a crucial role to the Web3 ecosystem due to the fact that the sphere requires scaling from thousands of developers to millions.
“Application-specific chains are critical infrastructure for that step, but they present huge challenges without interoperability. Axelar and Polygon Supernets are enabling developers to build on chains that make it easy to accomplish their goals, with zero barriers to liquidity or user onboarding.” Gorbunov further stated.
“Ethereum ecosystem developers will now have access to functions and users on the dozens of connected chains Axelar has integrated. That means developers can compose freely and build DApps that can attract users in the hundreds of millions.” In his answers to the way the alliance between Axelar and Polygon will create positive effect on the Web3 ecosystem, Gorbunov remarked.
Per Gorbunov, the Polygon alliance is a chance for sharing the vision of a cross-chain future with a developing community of builders on Polygon Supernets, as well as assisting the applications and blockchains which will be developed there.
He also shared that Polygon users would be able to take advantage from this collaboration, as “they will be able to connect securely to functions, assets, and user networks, anywhere on Web3.”
Besides developers, the most crucial beneficiaries of this alliance will be new users “who can onboard into those DApps bringing their existing tokens, wallets, and Web3 identities – without having to bridge or swap via separate interfaces.”
