Australia Authorities Reached Out to Blockchain Community to Identify Opportunities Across Sectors

The Australian National Blockchain Roadmap Steering Committee has reportedly made effort to connect with the wider blockchain community, to form working groups for researching applications across sectors.

Specifically, the initiative was reportedly to discover tech applications throughout the supply chain, agricultural and educational industries.

The Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources has reportedly issued invitations via their web page, calling out to any interested establishments to finalize their submissions, for the expressions of interest, prior to July 22nd.

The working groups will reportedly deep dive and identify use cases, and economic opportunities, together with hardships that are slowing down the adoption rate across Australia, and will submit their report for review to the committee by early next year.

The committee – formed by Australia’s Ministry of Industry, Science and Technology in February this year – is reportedly made up of “representatives from government, industry, research and other sectors”, and is in charge of supervising the implementation of the roadmap – rolled out in the first half of 2020.

“By recognising the rich opportunities that exist to leverage blockchain across our economy, these collaborative working groups will play a central role. They will help progress two important use cases for this technology – supply chains and credentialing.” Chair Narelle Luchetti reportedly highlighted the important role these working groups play.
