This week, The Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) has announced to enable the world first trial for live trading Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
According to its press release, the JSE has partnered with Canadian fintech firm Blockstation to start the pilot phase for trading of digital assets and security tokens.
Back in earlier this year, the JSE and Blockstation has succeeded in carrying out a live-trading trial for cryptocurrency. For the next stage, the two firms will continue their work and start developing an efficient and transparent regulatory environment.
The JSE revealed that they will soon launch a limited pilot for trading Bitcoin and Ethereum with the participating broker-dealers. However, they still remain the date for the start of the pilot secret.
Marlene Street Forrest, Managing Director of the JSE has commented about JSE’s big movement: “Blockstation has been a good partner over the past year, working closely with us and our stakeholders to ensure that their platform satisfies every requirement. This is an unprecedented opportunity for the JSE to diversify its product offerings and attract new listings and inbound investments.”
As The Crypto Sight reported this week, Switzerland’s principal stock exchange, the SIX Swiss Exchange, has just listed a Ripple-based (XRP) exchange-traded product, which began trading on April 2.
