Top-tier football entity playing in the English Premier League Manchester City reportedly disclosed details related to its inaugural alliance, formed with crypto exchange OKX for its men, women and esports teams.

Specifically, as revealed via the club’s release, the newly formed alliance will reportedly concentrate primarily on exclusive experiences for OKX’s international customer demographic, apart from an in-stadium appearance throughout the Etihad Stadium and Academy Stadium.

OKX – previously known as OKEx until 2022 – reportedly stands at the second spot in the list of most major spot exchanges across the sphere, reportedly catering to more than 20 million customers and supporting more than $4.3 billion in normalized trading volume over the past 24 hours.

These figures reportedly helped the entity stay ahead of Coinbase – at the 3rd position currently at around $3.3 billion, but both still left behind Binance by a wide margin, with more than $16.2 billion.

“Manchester City is a Club that represents the effect football has to make a positive difference in people’s lives, to bring people together around a shared love of the beautiful game.” Head of OKX – Jay Hao – further remarked regarding the development.

The city of Manchester fields two arch rivalries – Man City and Man United – who compete for not only bragging rights but also for other aspects that extend beyond the scope of football, nominally the digital asset sphere, respectively entering major partnerships with industry entities, spreading their presence in the Web3 sector.

Manchester United took the pioneering step of the two, previously forging a collaboration with blockchain company Tezos in early February, making the crypto firm its official training kit and technology partner.

The football empire also has plans down its pipeline to establish its presence in the metaverse and nonfungible token (NFT) collectible spaces.
