Meta – currently standing at the top spot as a social platform globally – reportedly finalized a submission of a trademark registration with the Brazilian government, to trademark Bitcoin and crypto offerings.

Specifically, Meta was formerly known as Facebook in an attempt to achieve enhanced alignment with the Metaverse developments, regardless of regulatory challenges occurring during its various efforts previously to set foot in the crypto sphere.

In a bid to speed up its effort, Meta reportedly submitted the filing for a trademark registration with the Brazilian National Institute of Industrial Property (INPI), regarding crypto offerings and services associated with trading, wallets and exchanges platforms.

“Design, development and implementation of software for third-party verification services for digital currency transactions, including (but not limited to) transactions involving Bitcoin currency.” The filing further reads.

Meta reportedly published the application for registration on January 25th, and is awaiting a greenlight from opposition prior INPI at the moment.

Per the filing, Meta’s trademark filing order was reportedly placed on October 5th of last year from Jamaica.

During the firm’s first quarter earnings call of 2022, Tim Cook – the current Head of Apple – reportedly revealed that he sees a significant amount of potential in the Metaverse sphere. The remark led to a surge in Apple stock prices.

“We’re always exploring new and emerging technologies and I’ve spoken at length about how it’s very interesting to us right now.” Cook reportedly offered a response regarding an inquiry about Apple’s opportunities within the Metaverse.
