Following nearly half a decade of discussion, a five-star hotel located in the Swiss Alps is reportedly gearing up to add Bitcoin (BTC) and Ether (ETH) to the list of viable measures from guests.

Specifically, customers staying at The Chedi Andermatt hotel will reportedly have the ability to complete the payment for any of their bills exceeding the 200 Swiss francs benchmark – around roughly $218 – with Bitcoin or Ether…

Prices reportedly appear to be available in fiat money to bring down the potential risk of volatility, with the hotel carrying out the conversion of any received digital coins into francs in an instant.

“We have long known that cryptocurrencies also have a future in hotel operations. In the course of the increasing spread and acceptance of cryptocurrency payments, we are proud to be one of the first Swiss luxury hotels to be able to offer our guests cryptocurrencies as a secure means of payment.” The hotel’s general manager Jean-Yves Blatt reportedly remarked.

Initially established in 2013, the Chedi Andermatt reportedly comes with a total of 123 rooms and suites, with the lowest price being 1,300 every night in the high season – approximately 0.03 BTC or 0.45 ETH.

Per insights generated by Coinmap, a vacation rental is reportedly also available in the region that has Bitcoin included in its list of viable payment mediums.

Although a variety of establishments have reportedly started accepting virtual assets, Switzerland has reportedly been taking a pro attitude towards the matter a while ago.

The Swiss canton of Zug – generally known as “Crypto Valley” – reportedly hosts numerous blockchain and crypto companies, apart from tokens being widely accepted for a variety of purposes in the area.
