Crypto Added to High School Curriculums for Georgia Students

The Georgia House of Representatives has reportedly approved of a law urging state education officials to carry out  a study project – focusing on financial literacy for high schoolers, crypto included. 

Specifically, the bill reportedly received regulatory greenlight from the lower chamber of Georgia on March 8th, with 169-2 approved votes. The bill receives the support of six Republican candidates, and has progressed to the Senate for additional consideration. 

The project reportedly covers 16 areas of financial literacy where the students in 10th or 11th grade, will be obtaining knowledge about 16 areas of financial literacy. 

“The State Board of Education shall prescribe a program of study in personal financial literacy to be completed by students during high school.” The bill was reportedly detailed. 

Crypto was reportedly included in the project, together with other traditional subjects, nominally balancing a checkbook, investing, money management, loan applications, and tax assessments.

Georgia’s bill has reportedly not been the first instance of crypto making an appearance in a curriculum for high schoolers. Previously in 2019, the French education ministry finalized the implementation of a Bitcoin and cryptocurrency module to its high school curriculum.

The module was reportedly particularly created to offer fundamental knowledge into crypto, associated with the traditional financial sphere. 

The module urged the students to find the answer for numerous concerns, nominally “Is Bitcoin the currency of the future?”, “Can Bitcoin replace the Euro?” and “Do you have trust in your currency?”.
