Aerospace Heavyweight Thales Turned to Blockchain For NATO Standard Compliance

| 09-Th11-2020

Thales – a multinational corporation from France focusing on products and services for aerospace and defense sectors – is reportedly adopting a blockchain-based approach for a new management system at its Spanish production hub.

Specifically, Thales is reportedly putting in effort to finalize the deployment of innovative techs, nominally blockchain and big data, in an attempt to initiate the digital transformation process, regarding its defense- and aeronautics-focused production and maintenance center.

As included in the project, the French firm reportedly is aiming to stay in compliance with standards set by the NATO and defense agency, via the use of blockchain to amp up traceability, for processes at its center.

“To comply with NATO standards and those of the Ministries of Defense with which the company collaborates, blockchain will be used to ensure the traceability of all parts and products handled in the Production and Maintenance Center.”

Particularly, blockchain will reportedly be included in the management network, hooked with remaining applications operating throughout the network.

The new platform is reportedly expected to establish an efficient connection for all processes, enhance communication with clients, along with maintenance operations.

Thales has reportedly been deep diving into blockchain, in a bid to amp up its operations, throughout the past years. Back in 2018, it forged an alliance with top-tier consultancy firm Accenture, to work on blockchain-powered upgrades for aircraft supply chains.
