The Autorité des Marchés Financiers (AMF) – the French authority in charge of financial market regulations – has reportedly given approval to Binance’s registration for offering crypto services in the nation.

Specifically, the AMF has reportedly granted Binance France SAS a spot on the list of registered digital asset service providers in France.

The registration was reportedly a significant stride towards making it legally possible for the crypto exchange to offer crypto-associated services in the local scene.

The range of services Binance reportedly plans to roll out reportedly includes custody assets, exchanging digital assets for other tokens or legal tender, as well as functioning a digital asset platform.

Per the AMF, it is mandatory for registration to include checks for making sure “good repute and competence of the managers and beneficial owners”, together with compliance with regulations on anti-money laundering and fighting against the financing of terrorism.

Binance reportedly revealed the plan down its pipeline to widen the scope of its operations in France after this latest development of obtaining the green light, with further plans to expand its team “to pursue further infrastructure development.”

“The French DASP and AML/CFT regulations put in place stringent anti-money laundering and fit and proper requirements to meet the high standards necessary to be regulated in France ” head of Finance Changpeng (CZ) Zhao further remarked.

The intention to set up a presence in France is reportedly the next step in its international expansion plan, with in-principle approval to roll out offerings in Abu Dhabi acquired last month.

In March, regulators in the Middle East also gave the green light for the exchange to provide services in Bahrain and Dubai.
