Binance Introduced NFT Ticketing Solution Via Partnership With Lazio Football Club

By Natalie Wu | July 30, 2022

Top-tier crypto exchange Binance reportedly introduced the pilot of its NFT ticketing tool, in collaboration with football club Società Sportiva Lazio for the 2022 to 2023 season.

Specifically, Binance reportedly emphasized that NFT tickets will serve as a solution to the problem of fake tickets, along with ruling out scalping and stopping disorder in sporting events.

Besides granting the ability to tap into different events, the NFT tickets will reportedly also cater to a vast array of different purposes, nominally store and match discounts, token giveaways, and other experiences with S. S. Lazio.

The forged alliance between the entities will reportedly help bring NFT tickets to all of S. S. Lazio’s home matches. Marco Canigiani, an executive at the football club, revealed that existing ticket holders will have the freedom to claim their NFT tickets for free and use them to enter Stadio Olimpico, as well as be at the receiving end of the perks that accompany the e-tickets.

Binance executive Zoe Wei additionally remarked that the introduction of NFT ticketing is a sign of an alternative measure for using NFTs, and underscores a major use case for Web3 technology.

Wei further claimed that blockchain-powered tickets possess the potential to eventually widen their scope from sports to cover the larger entertainment sector.

In May, UEFA reportedly pointed out thousands of fake tickets as the reason causing chaos that took place in the Paris-based Champions League final. The event emphasized an issue with traditional ticketing solutions, generating remarks from Web3 professionals regarding the way blockchain-powered ticketing can offer a solution.

Josh Katz, the Head of NFT marketplace YellowHeart, reportedly argued that ticketing is the most compelling use case for NFTs, further underscoring that via possessing evidence of authenticity for every ticket, event organizers will have a defense mechanism against counterfeit ones.
